Dear Mayor Throgmorton:
I am writing to provide formal notice of my resignation from my position on the Iowa City
Airport Commission. For the reasons stated below, my last day as a Commissioner will be May
31, 2019.
I have accepted an associate attorney position in Des Moines, and will not reside in Iowa City
beginning May 31, 2019. Under Iowa Code § 330.20 and Iowa City Code § 13-1-2, a member of
the Iowa City Airport Commission must be a resident of Iowa City. As I will be unable to satisfy
this requirement after May 31, 2019, I hereby announce my resignation.
I want to thank the Airport Commission, staff, and the city attorneys who help represent the
airport and the city of Iowa City. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each person through
my term on the Airport Commission and appreciate the opportunity to represent such an
important part of this community. I will continue to look upon my experience on the
Commission with pride, and wish the Airport Commission the best moving forward.
