Continuation of Budget discussion
City Manager Fruin provided information on the property tax rollback and how it will impact the FY24
budget along with discussions on the Max Tax Levy. Councilors discussed additional community
outreach and a centralized grant position. City Manager Fruin answered questions from Council.
Individual Council members expressed their views.
Staff action: City Council requested a memorandum outlining options to accelerate Strategic Plan
initiatives by adding neighborhood outreach capacity and a centralized grant position aimed at
aggressively pursuing federal resources to support citywide initiatives. Staff will prepare a memo for
the February 7th work session. The Finance Department shall move forward with required public
hearing documentation consistent with the original FY 24 CMO budget recommendations.
Council adjourned to regular formal meeting and did not return to work session.
