University of Iowa Update on Capital Building Plans Rod Lehnertz, VP of Finance & Operations and University Architect with the University of Iowa gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding the Campus Master Planning update for the next 10 years. ➢ Pentacrest ➢ Art Building ➢ Gilmore Hall ➢ Iowa Memorial Union Modernization > Former Museum of Art ➢ Raze Halsey Hall > Replace Iowa Memorial Union Ramp ➢ UI-Owned properties on Clinton Street > Main Library Modernization ➢ University Capitol Center Purchase/Renovations ➢ Right-sizing ➢ Athletics, via gifts > Additional/potential areas of study and campus development ➢ Jacobson Inpatient Bed Tower > Future CCOM Research Sites ➢ Tower Enabling Projects Lehnertz answered council questions and provided them with additional information. Individual Council members expressed their views. 2. Clarification of Agenda Items Councilor Thomas requested to pull item 6.1 from the Consent Calendar for separate consideration. 3. Information Packet Discussion [June 22, July 61 > June 22— No discussion. > July 6— IP4— Memo from City Clerk: Joint Entities Meeting Agenda items for July 17 Mayor Teague asked Council for items to add to the Joint Entities Agenda. Individual Council members expressed their views. May 16, 2023 Page 2 Action: The City Clerk will notify Johnson County of the following two additions to the Joint Entities meeting agenda for July 17: Smart 911, and Bus Rapid Transit. 4. University of Iowa Student Government (USG) Updates. Noah LeFevre, USG Liaison, presented updates. 5. Council updates on assigned boards, commissions, and committees Council members reported on various assigned boards, commissions, and committees. Adjourn 5:33 p.m.
