Summary of Minutes
June 20, 2023
Iowa City City Council special formal meeting, 4:00 p.m. held at City Hall — Emma J.
Harvat Hall, 410 E. Washington Street. Mayor Teague presiding. Council members
present: Alter, Bergus, Dunn, Harmsen, Taylor, Teague, Thomas. Absent: None. Staff
members present: Jones, Kilburg, Goers, Fruehling, Knoche, Durst. Unless otherwise
noted, all actions were affirmative and unanimous.
Moved by Taylor, seconded by Alter, to adjourn to executive session to discuss
strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is
imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position
of the governmental body in that litigation. The Mayor declared the motion carried and
adjourned into executive session 4:01 p.m.
Council returned to open session 4:16 p.m.
Moved by Dunn, seconded by Thomas, to adjourn special meeting 4:17 p.m.
