Reduction Program
The new Federal Drinking Water Lead and Copper Rule Revisions
will take effect on October 16, 2024 and be a comprehensive update
to the Lead and Copper Rule enacted in 1991.
The City has created a Lead Reduction Program to inform residents
about the risk of lead exposure in drinking water from home
plumbing materials, require the replacement of broken lead water
service pipes, and provide resources to mitigate the liabilities
associated with lead or lead contaminated home plumbing
materials. To learn more visit ic;;ov.orjVwater.
