- Section 8 and Public Housing Update
Moore stated he liked the new handout prepared by Henderson showing monthly
statisttcs along with year-to-date figures for Section 8 and Public Housing
programs, Henderson stated the Annual Contributions Contract for Section 8
Certificates was amended to extend the term to June 30, 1992, for Projects
due to expire and it will be amended again to cover the remaining expiring
projects in approximately October which is the Federal fiscal year. No
problems expected with additional extension of expiring certificatos.
Twenty (20) applications submitted for approval,
DISCUSSION:
Moore stated correspondence was received from Hueholt stating ho was
resigning from the Housing Conm1ssion, Current vacancies now total two (2)
for Housing Commission.

McMahon stated CCN meeting was held 6.19-90. Dtscusslon Included the
formation of the Office of Neighborhood Services and creating a new City
position to coordinate community needs and work with Boards/Commlsstons and
attend their meetings, CCN has changed meeting day and tlmo to the fourth
Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
CDBG HOUSING UPDATE - MILKMAN:
Milkman discussed the need to make rental untts accessible with
rehabilitation funds, Currently the program a 11 ows funds only for owner-
occupied homes, Milkman stated a trial program would be established and
requirements of the ownor-occupled residential accessibility program with a
$6,000.00 limit per unit per project would be used: a grant for less than
S1000.00 and loan or life lien for over $1000.00, It was suggested also
that the real Improvemonts to tho unit I.e, shower for handicapped be In the
form of lien/loan and other exterior Improvements I.e, ramps be In the form
of ten-year depreciating loan.
Milkman dtscussed tho status of the property at 1303 First Avenue, A Public
Hearing ts to bo hold July 24, 1990, for the sale of the proporty, Milkman
also stated Request for Proposals would go out approximately July 24, 1990,
to builders for Sycamoro View.
Htlkman stated tho Rehabilitation Review Board approved two projects In
June, 1990: 11I7 St. Clements Street for Rental Rehabl1ltatlon In the
