Mercy Hospital AIr Access Requesl ' Blum staled thai because the Legal Doparlmont has
questions concerning the requasl by Mercy Hospital, he would recommend delorrlng the Issue
10 the August mooUng, He stated that air access Is nol a question lor the Commission to decide
and was scheduled on the agenda at the AIrport Manager's request. Fostor moved 10 defer the
Item until the August 21 , t990, meeting, Ockenlels seconded the motion and It passed on a 5.()
vote.

The minutes 01 the June 19, 1990, AIrport Commission meeting and public hearing minutes wero
approved as presented,
O'Neil presented the list 01 expenditures lor June 1990, Blum questioned tho paymenllo H.R.
Green lor the ALP update. O'Neil slatod that It was paymenlln lull and the changos to the ALP
required by the FAA rovlow should be Included. Hamilton moved to accept the list 01
expenditures as presentod, Ockenfels lOConded the motion and It passed 5-0.
1. Iowa City School System Lease. The Iowa City school system leases one.hall acre 01
airport properly at the norlheasl corner 01 the airport. Tho lease Is a one.year leese
ronewable upon paymont 01 the renl. "the properly Is needed lor airport use, the lease
may bo canceled with 6O-day advanced written notice, Hicks moved to renow the Iowa

Mr. Jones that the tank lining proposal presented to tho Commission was Incompleto and
additional Inlormatlon would be required belore the proposal can be considered as s
vlablo alternative, Mr, Jonos sold ho will attempt to provlde tho Commission with
whatover Inlormatlon It needs, All alternatives will be discussed with the City Council,

porform althe airport, Othor scheduled events wore discussed. Thoso evonts Includod

the First National Bank. Iowa City firefighters and the Coralville Fire Departmenl did tho honors.

Melsol sold tho Center has received a t4-day bingo license, so quilt raffio tlckots can bo sold at

Molsel explained thai plant maintenance care costs had doubled lor the coming year, She got
bids lrom other sourcos, bulthey wore even higher than tho $85 bid by the company currenl~
provldlng plant care lor the Center.
Meisel provlded an update on securing bids lor the openers to make the doors handicapped
accosslble, She said Freoman Lock cannot bid after 011 as Uberty Doors Is the oxcluslvo
distributor lor the openers which are accoptable, Geasland gave Meisel the name 01 Hawkoyo
Lock Company In Davenport as a possible second bidder,
Molsel said bids were being sought lor fire alarm maintenance due to the number 01 limes tho
