transitional housing program, Maher stated that thO Iransltlonal housing program Is an approach

The transitional housIng program leaches porsons budgeting skills, housohold management skills,
and lob training. Maher said the program has boon going on lor one year and throe months, and
currently has three sitos with families located In them and two moro housos In the rohabllltatlon

1. Outstanding enrollees of the ICC/Summer component were
announced, They are Shawn Meior, Kelly Shaaby, and Tracy
Riggan. The youth, chosen by their co-workers and
supervisors, will receive cortificates from Govornor
Brandstad and will also attand the Governor's Youth
Conference in Septomber.
2. Peg encouraged board members to consider forming a team
for the 14th annual Iowa City Hospico Road Races. The
internal goal is to raise $100,0001 the external goal is
to raise $95,000 with 3500-4000 participants. The next
team's training will be held Wodnesday, September 5, at
4:00 P.M. at the Iowa State Bank.
3. Elections are scheduled for the September meeting.
Jacque McClure volunteerod to select othor mombors to serve
on the nominating committee.
VI. Old Business
1. Pam Kleese reported on tho attributes of tho nowly
acquired color monitor. Paul Burian exprossed concern over
being infectod with a computor virus and rocommonded
installing a "vllccino" program to avoid this problem.
2. Peg reported that tho movo to 310 E. Prentiss was
complete and that an open houso is being planned later in
the year. Warren Hanlin did the remodelling and Mick
Bowors and Nathan Sayro will be designing tho storage aroa.
3. The Youth Services Foundation will moet tho last week
of August with pog serving ao liaison between MYEP and YSF
since no board members servo on both.

4. The Camp Cardinal lease agreement is in the tinal
atages of being signed. Rotary is currently changing
administrations which ia caUsing a slight delay in the
progress. Peg and Youth Homes, Inc. executive director
Bill McCarty presentod a proposal to the Varioty Club in
Des Moines July 31, 1990, for the first phaao of
construction and feel it wont well,
