Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will
be held by the Cny Council 01 Iowa City, Iowa, at ,.
7:30 P.M. on the 6th day 01 July, 1993, in the
Civic Center Council Chambers, Iowa City, Iowa;
at which hearing the Council will consider the
lollowing items:
1. 'A resolution approving a proposed
COl1llrehensive Plan amendment concerning
Neighborhood Open Space.
2. An ordinance amending the Zoning Ordl.
nance by adopting Section 36.16.1, the
ResidentlaVOfflce (RIO) Zone, and amend.
Ing Section 36.58, Off'Slreet Parking Re-
quirements, and Section 36.62, Sign Regu-
lations, to Include provisions lor the RIO
Zone.
3. An ordinance amending the Zoning Ordi-
nance by changing the use regulations tor
properties located on the north side of Jef-
lerson Slreet between Linn and Van Buren
streets and properties located on the south
side of Jefferson Street between Gilbert and

4. An ordinance vacating the alley located west

AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE ALLEY
LOCATED WEST OF GILBERT STREET AND
NORTH OF KIRKWOOD AVENUE BETWEEN
210 AND 230 KIRKWOOD A VENUE.
WHEREAS, platted alleys In some areas of
the City are no longer used; and
WHEREAS, the north.south alley located
west of Gilbert Street and north of Kirkwood
Avenue Is no longer needed for accass to
abutting properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IOWA CITY,
IOWA, THAT:
SECTION I. VACATION. Subject to 11 closure
of the curb cut located on the northwest corner
of Kirkwood Avenue and Gilbert Street; 21
execution of an agreement providing for no
more than two curb cuts on the north side of
Kirkwood Avenue between Gilbert Street and
Ralston Creek with future redevelopment of the
site; 31 establishment of a conservation
easement parallel to and extending to the top
of the bank of Ralston Creek on applicant's
property; and 4) retention of an easement over
the vacated alley for the existing U.S. West
phone lines, the City of Iowa City hereby
vacates the alley legally described as follows:
The alley located west of Lots 25, 26, and
27 and east of Lots 28, 29 and 30 of
White's Subdivision of Outlot 4, County
Seat Addition,
SECTION II, REPEALER, All ordinances and
parts of ordinances In conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
SECTION III. SEVERABILITY. If any section,
provision or part of the Ordinance shall be
adjudged to be Invalid or unconstitutional, such
adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
Ordinance as a whole or any section, provision
or part thereof not adjudged Invalid or
uneonstltutlonal.
SECTION IV. EFFECTIVE DATE, This
Ordinance shall be In effect after Its final
passage, approval and publication, as provided
bylaw.

This offer is contingent upon the City of Iowa city vacating

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice Is hereby given that a public hearing will
be held on August 3, 1993, at 7:30 p,m. In the
Council Chambers, Civic Center, 410 E.
Washlnglon Street, Iowa C"y, Iowa, Paragraph
403A.28, State Code of Iowa, requires this Public
Hearing prior to undertaking these low.cost
housing projects. The Iowa City Housing
Author"y proposes to acquire and operate twenty
(20) dwelling units pursuant to'the United States
Housing Act of 1937 as amended.
This Act authorizes the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to
provide financial and technical assistance to
public housing agencies for the development and
operation of low-Income housing. HUD has
published a Notification of Funding Avallabll"y for

Notice Is hereby given that a public hearing will
be held on Tuesday, August 3, 1993, at 7:30
p.m. In the Council Chambers, Civic Center, 410
E. Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa. 403A.28,
State Code of Iowa, requires this Public Hearing
prior to undertaking these housing projects, The
Iowa City Housing Authority Intends to apply for
25 units each Section 8 Existing Housing
certificates and vouchers. If approved, these
units will be an extension of the present Section
8 Housing Assistance Payments Program now

MATTER OF THE PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF

(FOR A GENERAL CORPORATE PURPOSE),

Public Notice is hereby given that the Council
of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, will hold a
public hearing on the 3rd day of AUQust,
1993, at 7: 30 o'clock L.M. in the
Council Chambers, Civic Center, 410 E.
Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa, at which
meeting the Council proposes to take action for
the Issuance of not to exceed $700,000 of
General Obligation Bonds, bearing interest at
the rate of not to exceed nine per centum
(9.00%) per annum, said bonds to be issued
for the purpose of providing funds to pay costs
of reconstructing and improving the Robert A,
lee Community Recreation Center, including
reroofing and replacement of flooring.
This Notice Is given by order of the Council
of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, as provided by
Section 384.26 of the City Code of Iowa.
At any time before the date of said meeting,
a petition, asking that the question of Issuing
such bonds be submitted to the legal voters of
said City, may be filed with the Clerk of said
