Council Member Lehman stated he and Mayor Horowitz are part of the Council's representatives attending meetings on renegotiating of the SEATS contract, and reiterated the same quality of service is being planned, He stated talks were being held on the formula for calculating the City's share of the costs, Mayor Horowitz referenced an article in Time magazine talking about derivatives, and was glad to learn from Finance Director Yucuis that Iowa City was not investing in such funds, The Mayor also noted the leaf pick-up schedule for the City, and asked citizens to be sure the leaves were in the right-of-way and not on the street, City Atty, Gentry announced she would be a celebrity chef on October 19 as part of a fund raiser for Alliance for Mentally III of Johnson County, and encouraged individuals to make reservations, The Mayor noted a recommendation of the Committee on Community Needs that the proposed amendments to the 1994 CDBG Program Statement and Budget be approved.
