(itp of JobJa lup Jl\d)m:JI~mJej} BbereRs, Heritage Trees of Iowa City is a joint effort by three of the city's , oldest neigh1orhoods -- Longfellow, Northside, and Goosetown .- Project GREEN and the City of Iowa City, and mbeteRs, Heritage Trees exists to identify the unique character, condition, and heritage of the urban forest in the oldest parts of the city, to increase awareneSS of the forest, and to create a master plan to preserve and, when necessary, to replace Iowa City's heritage trees, and BuereRS, Heritage Trees, with funding from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Forestry Division and the USDA Forest Service, recently completed an inventory of over 5,000 trees located on public property in Oakland Cemetery, Goosetown, Northside, and Longfellow neighborhoods, and BuereRS, the tree inventory was completed with the help of approximately 135 volunteers who contributed over 2,000 hours of their time, and BueteRS, the Heritage Tree inventory could not have been possible without the special contributions of Nancy Seiberling of Project GREEN, Arborist Leon Lyvers, and Goosetowner Kate Klaus, j1}oi1l, tbttdote, I, Susan M.
