Adjournment CITY OF IOWA CITY MEMORANDUM DATE: February2% 2014 TO: Housing and Community Development Commission FROM: Tracy Hightshoe, Community Development Planner RE: HCDC Meeting on March 6, 2014 Thank you for the time and energy that you have put into the allocation process up to this point. Below is a brief description of the March 61h agenda items. At the upcoming meeting you will be discussing the FY15 applications, funding amounts and the rankings. At this time, HUD has not approved final allocations for entitlement communities, thus we will continue to anticipate the funding as stated previously in regards to our annual entitlement funding. If the commission is unable to formulate a budget recommendation on March 6, we will meet again on March 13. Most of the housing projects may be funded with both CDBG and HOME funds; however THF- CHDO operating and the Shelter House Rapid Rehousing projects are only HOME eligible. As a reminder, $316,000 must be allocated to HOME eligible projects. Included in this packet are your preliminary rankings and allocations. Please review your scores and allocations. If you notice any errors, please contact me so I can make corrections before the meeting. At the February meeting, the commission asked the Iowa City Co -Housing representative to submit elevations of the proposed housing development. They are included in your packet for your reference. There was also a question about neighborhood concerns for this development. Staff spoke with Marcia Bollinger, Neighborhood Services. She stated based on previous meetings, most neighbors support the concept of co -housing, but there have been a few concerns voiced about a new access on Benton St. The Co -housing representative will ask if a neighbor can attend the March 6 meeting. If you have any questions regarding this information, please feel free to contact me at 356-5244 or tracy-hightshoe@iowa-city.org. The March 6 meeting will be in EMMA HARVAT HALL, CITY HALL 410 E.
