CITY CODE, ENTITLED "USE OF PUBLIC WAYS AND
PROPERTY," CHAPTER 3, ENTITLED, "COMMERCIAL USE OF
SIDEWALKS," SECTION 3, ENTITLED "USE FOR SIDEWALK
CAFES," TO ALLOW SIDEWALK CAFES TO ENCOMPASS
RAISED PLANTERS IN CITY PLAZA UNDER LIMITED
CIRCUMSTANCES. (PASS AND ADOPT)

06-16 AND ADOPTING A FEE SCHEDULE AND DEPOSIT
REQUIREMENTS FOR USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR
SIDEWALK CAFES.
Champion: Move the resolution.
Bailey: Second.
Wilburn: Moved by Champion, seconded by Bailey. Discussion? This adds certain
fees and requires a deposit for use of the planter space in case of any
potential damages. Discussion? Roll call. Item carries 7-0.

CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN
AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST A LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR
TEMPORARY USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AMONG THE CITY
OF IOWA CITY, LANDOWNER MAUREEN MONDANARO, AND
TENANT SALOON OF IOWA CITY, L.c. D/B/A THE SALOON FOR A
SIDEWALK CAFE.

that I did send a quick email to Mayor Rybak of Minneapolis to let them
know that our thoughts and prayers for the tragedy that happened up there.
