HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-01-04 CorrespondenceDecember 24, 1976 Raymond E. Morgan 413 Upland Avenue Iowa City, Iowa 52240 CI To the Mayor and City Council of Iowa City, Iowa: SUBJECT: Complaints by the people living on South Summit Street of cars using their street to get to East Court Street in order to miss all the confusion of getting off Muscatine Avenue onto Court Street to get into the Court Hill section of town. I have lived in Iowa City for forty years and I was not aware that the people who own property also own the street. Court Street is one of the two streets going into Court Hill addition. Instead of trying to find ways such as no right turn from Burlington Street and a stop sign at Oakland Avenue, I think you should find ways to move this traffic instead of slowing it down. Come out some night at 5:OOPM and see what a mess it is trying to make a left hand turn from Muscatine Avenue onto Court Street. We have enough dead -end streets in east Iowa City without trying to add any more. I am enclosing two clipping from Over The Coffee. I am going to send Mr. Kaul a copy of this letter and see if he would like to comment on it. Sincerely, ( aymond E.
