costs and favor reducing military budgets by increasing
efficiency and economy within the military,

WHEREAS, the civic bodies and service organizations of our community and
the departments of the local government recognize the great service
rendered to this cormmmity by the Iowa City Jaycees, and
WHEREAS, the United States Jaycees and its affiliated state and local
organizations have set aside the week of January 16-22, 1977, to
observe the founding of the Jaycees and to commemorate such found-
ing by the selection of outstanding young people in this community,
namely the Outstanding Young Farmer, Educator, Law Enforcement Per-
- son, and Religious Leader, and
WHEREAS, this organization of young men has contributed materially to the
betterment of this community throughout the year,
