PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, November has been designated nationally and statewide as
National Epilepsy Month; and
WHEREAS, residents of Iowa City have always viewed individual attitudes,
skills and abilities as the only legitimate basis upon which
the judgment of fellow citizens is to be made; and
WHEREAS, individuals with the disorder vary as widely as the general
population in their ability to perform as workers, managers,
researchers, artists, technicians, and professionals, and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of all of us to see that the doors of
opportunity are open to all qualified persons, and that every-
one be given a chance to prove his or her capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the entire eoonanic structure of Iowa City benefits from the
labors and economic independence of each and every citizen;
