I � 3 e.Setting Public Hearing: H,' (1) Consider resolution setting a tpublici hearing for the proposed Court.,andlMuscatine_Bridge for January 10, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. ,,. in the City Council Chambers. COMMENT: This resolution sets a public hearing to hear from all interested parties' concerning the bridge at Court and Muscatine. A meeting.was held with residents in the area on November 9, 1977. It appears that Public Works and the neighborhood residents will i be friendly adversaries concerning the width of the street., Public Works will recommend a street; width wider than the Present 31 feet. It was suggested that after the public hearing Council set up an.informal 'session to discuss this matter further. Comment: The Council set the public hearing on December 6, 1977, to determine if the Q�/ Beer and Liquor License should be revoked or suspended for�iolations of State Liquor Regulations. A memorandum from R. Douglas Bramhall, Attorney for Pzazz Entertainment, is included in the Council packet. As a result of the action taken, relating to change in ownership and personnel, the Police Chief recommends that the hearing be cancelled. The owner obviously has made a good faith effort to comply. Action: i { Item No. 9 CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF IOWA CITY BY ADOPTING THE 1976 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE WITH CERTAIN AMENDMENTS, REPEALING ORD. N2710, AND PROVIDING FOR ITS ENFORCEMENT (second consideration). Comment: This Ordinance adopts the 1976 Uniform Plumbing Code. The amendments 409(a)- are the same as in the 1973 with the exception of Section - ,edition which allows administrative ''authority on back water valves on basements below curb line, Section 608 which will allow loop vents for discharge lines on dishwashers, and the new uniform appeal procedure in Section S.D. These amendmentshave been approved `and rrecommended to Council for r adoption by the Plumbing Board of Appeals. A copy of this Ordinance was furnished with the agenda) of November 15, 1977. Action: �� uJ r ^,Q� '� Item No. '10 CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6.04.35.0 OF ORDINANCE NO. 77-2835 ,V ':- TO PROHIBIT THE TRACKING OF MUD, GRAVEL OR OTHER MATERIALS ONTO PUBLIC STREETS BY VEHICLES (second consideration). Comment: The purpose of this ordinance is to prevent vehicles from tracking mud :,gravel or other,materials onto paved public streets. This ordinance will enable the Police to ticket vehicles tracking mud, gravel or other materials. See attached memorandum from Director of Public Works. Action: Item No. 11 CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY CLERK TO CERTIFY AN AGREEMENT WITH,THEIIOWA-DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SO AS TO RECEIVE FUNDING UNDER THE STATE TRANSIT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. Nr ' Comment: On September 27, 1977, the City Council authorized the Mayor to make 1 an application on behalf of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, for funds to'be,used ',for capital and operating assistance for, certain transit operations under the State Transit Assistance Program.
