NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the City of Iowa City
proposes to rezone from A2 County to Ml Zone, the
following described property, to -wit:
Commencing at the southwest corner of the south-
west quarter of the southwest quarter of Section
27, Township 79 North, Range 6 West of the 5th
P.M.; thence north to the southwest corner of
the north ten (10) acres of the southwest quarter
of the southwest quarter of said Section 27;
thence East 815 feet; thence southerly to a
point on the south line of said Section 27; which
point is 440 feet west of the southeast corner
of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter
of said Section 27, thence west to the place of
beginning; also all that part of the east half of
the southeast quarter of Section 28, Township 79
North, Range 6 West of the 5th P.M., lying easter-
ly of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific
Railroad Company right-of-way line; subject to
easements and restrictions of record,
and also proposes to rezone from A2 County to Cl Zone,
the following described property, to -wit:
Government Lot 7 in Section 27.
as requested by the Wagner -Murphy Foundation.
Both of the above-described properties are located
adjacent to south City limits on E. side of Hwy. 218.
Notice is further given that pursuant to Section
414.4 of the 1977 Code of Iowa, a hearing by the City
Council of Iowa City, Iowa, on the said proposed
rezoning will be held at the Council Chambers at the
Civic Center of Iowa City, Iowa, at 7:30 P.M. on
April 18, 1978, and any person having objections to
said proposed action may appear and file objections
at said hearing.

NOTICE OF THE LOCATiON AND DCSiGiI PUBLIC HEARiNG FOR
THE SOUTH GILBERT STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN THE
CITY OF IOWA CITY, JOHNS0N COUNTY, IOWA.
Public notice is hereby given that the City
Council of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, will conduct
a public hearing on the location and design of the
South Gilbert Street Improvement Project in said
city at 7:30 o'clock p.m. on the 18th day of April,
1978, said meeting to be held in the Council Chambers
in the Civic Center in said city.
All interested persons are advised that the City
of Iowa City is planning to relocate and improve
South Gilbert Street from Third Sheet south to
Napoleon Park.
The City anticipates using Federal Aid Urban
System Funds for part of the financing of this
project. The hearing will consider the location
and design aspects of the proposed project. (daps,
drawings and other information developed by the
City of Iowa City in the planning and design of
this project as well as written views received
from other Federal or State agencies will be
available for public inspection and copying at
the hearing, and will also be available for
inspection and copying in the City Engineer's
office in the Civic Center during this advertise-
ment period.
This hearing is to afford the public the
opportunity to be heard on economic, social and
environmental effects of the project so that
final decisions on the project are made in the
best overall public interest, taking into
consideration the need for safe and efficient
transportation, public services, and the cost
of eliminating or minimizing adverse effects.
Provisions shall be made for submission of
written statements and other exhibits in place
of, or in addition to, oral statements at the
hearing. Such written statements or exhibits
will also be accepted after the hearing by the
City Engineer, Civic. Center, 410 East Washington
Street, Iowa City, Iowa, 52240, for a period of
ten days following the hearing, ending on April
28, 1978, at 5:00 p.m.
