HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-04-25 Public Hearingh11L:ROFILMED BY JORM MICROLAB LEDAR RAPIDS AND ULA ;'!U111L, NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, 410 East Washington St., Iowa City, Iowa. Paragraph 403A. 28 State Code of Iowa requires this Public Hear- ing prior to undertaking this low-cost housing project. The Iowa City Housing Authority pro- poses to construct and operate 48 dwelling units pursuant to the United States Housing Act of 1937 as amended. This Act authorizes the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide financial and technical assistance to public housing agencies for the development and operation of low-income housing. HUD has published a Notification of Housing Assistance Availability for the State of Iowa. The Iowa City Housing Authority has re- quested an allocation of forty-eight (48) dwelling units designed for occupancy by low-income families. These units range in size from 2-4 bedroom units. The structures will be row type buildings. Name, possible locations and estimat- ed costs will be discussed at said hearing. Funds for development, construction, and opera- tion can be provided by HUD. Eligible family occupants will pay 25% of family income for rent. WASHINGTON ST IOWA CITY IOWA 52240 (319) 354.180D Public Hearing - Turnkey Housing This Public Hearing is required by Chapter 403A, Paragraph 28, State Code of Iowa. The Iowa City Housing Authority has subni.tted a request to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for an allocation of funds to plan, construct and manage 48 units of family housing. It is proposed that these units will be constructed at 3 or 4 locations with 12-16 units at each location. The Authority requested 12 - two bedroom units, 26 - three bedroom units and 10 - four bedroom units. If approved, HUD prepared and marketed Housing Bonds will provide capitol for the construction. They will be amoratized aver a 40 year period. Funds for operation will be provided by tenant rent and supplemented as necessary by an Annual Contributions Contract with H.U.D.
