ORDINANCE NO. 78-2890
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
3.34.3(15) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF IOWA CITY BY EXTENDING
THE HOURS OF USE IN MERCER AND
CITY PARKS.
SECTION 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this
ordinance is to change the closing time for
Mercer and City Parks from 10:30 to 11:00
p.m. from April 15 to October 31.
SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. Section 3.34.3(15)
is hereby amended to read as follows:
15. Be in any Park or Playground,
whether on foot or in a vehicle between the
hours of 10:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., except as
herein provided, unless granted special autho-
rization by the City of Iowa City, Iowa. How-
ever, from April 15 to October 31, the hours
shall be from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. in City
Park and Mercer Park.
SECTION 3. REPEALER. Section 3.34.3(15)
and all other ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY. If any section,
provision or part of the ordinance shall be
adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional,
such adjudication shall not affect the vali-
dity of the ordinance as a whole or any
section, provision or part thereof not adjud-
ged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance
shall be in effect after its final passage,
approval and publication as required by law.
