The Saturday non -emergency fee should be',lncreasedfor the child -
;'
from $80.00 to $90.00 and ,for the adult from $145.00 to $165.00.
a
;This charge is based on the. actual opening being accomplished
(,
during the week at regular charge per hour. Only the cost of
closing reflects the overtime factor and the new figure more
.
'accurately reflects our cost.
Allowances were made for emergency interments (within 24 hours
of death) in the adopted Rules and Regulations but no schedule
of fees and charges was established.' Rather than leave the
it
matter to chance and to cause undue hardship, it is claimed best
to at least establish a minimum charge. This situation
elim-inates
all possibility of any part of the work being done on
n
regular time. Employees will he performing the entire service
G
at the overtime scale of time and a half or double time and a
half.
i
A fee for interment of ashes on Saturday has been removed, the
j
feeling being that there's'. no realneedor demand for such a
C
service.
1
r
'.Having operated under the present Schedule of Fees and Charges
for over one year and having noted certain discrepancies in the
fees and charges, it now seems reasonable to request a revision

and to charge a differential, rate that will reflect the in-'

creased costs of, the operation.

.CONSIDER RESOLUTION AMENDING THE REGULATIONS FOR OAKLAND CEMETERY '
BY PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE RESIDENT: FEE FOR THE INTER- {
MENT OF THE PURCHASER, SPOUSES, AND THEIR CHILDREN.
Comment:
Staff has found it difficult to determine whether the resident
or non-resident fee should he paid. Often a person will pur-
f
chase a lot while a resident then move to another area after F
1
retirement'. The spouse and the children of either spouse may
never be residents!of Iowa City yet they may 'wish to he interred
here. It would seem reasonable to extend the resident rate to
the spouse and children of a person who purchased a lot while a
resident of Iowa City.
