NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 2238 (CHAPTER 8.10 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF IOWA CITY, IOWA)
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be
held by the City Council of Iowa City, Iowa, at
7:30 P.M. on the 14th day of November, 1978, in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Iowa City,
Iowa. At which hearing the Council will consider
arguments for and against the proposed adoption of
amendnents to the Zoning Code (Chapter 8.10 of the
Municipal Code). The intent of the proposed
Ordinance is to restrict and eventually eliminate
non -conforming uses because they have been found to
be incompatible with permitted uses in the zone
involved. Non -conforming buildings shall be regulated
to prevent an increase in the degree of nonconform-
ity. The lawful use of any building or land existing
on the effective date of this Ordinance may continue
although such use does not conform with the
provisions of this Ordinance, subject to the conditions
contained herein.
Copies of the proposed Ordinance amendments are on
file for public examination in the Office of the
City Clerk, Civic Center, Iowa City, Iowa. This
notice is given pursuant to Section 414 of the Code
of Iowa, 1977.

corded plat thereof, exclusive of such portions of
