AN ORDINANCE TO *END THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY CHW1G-
1NG _DE USE REGJLATIONS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
NORTH OF HIGMY 1 BETWEEN HUDSON AND MILLER AVE-
NJES.
THE CITY CODICIL OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, FEREBY FINDS
THAT:
1. The property described in Section I below has or
Should have been classified Public (P) to re-
flect the ownership and use of the property as a
maintenance facility by the State of Iowa.
2. A private Entity has purchased the property and
a zoning change to a classification other than P
is required by the Iowa City Code of Ordinances
Section 36-30(g)(1).
3. The Commercial Intensive (CI -1) zone classifica-
tion requested is compatible with existing
neighboring comiercial uses; because of its
hr9h eY frontage, the property is more appropri-
ately zoned for commercial rather than residen-
tial uses; and the zone provides adequate
buffering between intensive cmme-cial uses and
adjacent residential properties.
NOW, TFEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY a CITY CODICIL
OF THE CITY OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, IMT:
SECTION I. The zoning classification of the
property below is hereby changed from
FUblic (P)1 and Residential Single -Family (RS -8) to
Cc mercial Intensive (CI -1):
All of Lots 20, 21, 50-54 of Bailey and
Beck's Addition to the City of Iowa City,
lows, and the former Hoard Street right -
of -Way between the right-of-wey of Miller
Avenue and Nndson Avenue.
SECTION II. MAP N-£1rChElTf. The Building Inspec-
tor is hereby authorize and directed to change the
zoning map of the City of Iowa City, Io a to conform
to this amendment upon final passage, approval and
Publication of this ordinance as provided by law.
SECTION III. CERTIFICATION AND RECORDING. The
City er is er z y a cr a trec rd to
certify a copy of this ordinance vhich shall be
recorded in the office of the County Recorder of
Johnson County, lova.
SECTION IV. REPEALER: All ordinances and parts
of o mantes in con a with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION V. SEVERABILITY: If any section, provi-
sion cr part OT Lflls urainance shall be adjudged to
be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication

shall rot affect the validity of the Ordinance as a
whole or any section, provision or part thereof not
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION VI. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall
be in effect after its final passage, approval and
publication as required by law.

ORDINANCE NO. 88-3565
AN ORDINANCE AIEN✓DING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY CMG-
ING THE USE REOJLATIOIS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 808 SOUIH DUBUQIE STREET.
WHEREAS, the property located at 808 South
Dubuque Street is located in an area zoned CI -1,
Intensive Ca nercial Zone; and
WHEREAS, Section 36-30(g)(2) of the Zoning Ordi-
nance indicates that land awned or otherwise con-
trolled by a governmental entity must be rezoned to
the Public (P) Zone; and
WrEREAS, surrounding land use patterns reflect
the intensive commercial nature of uses permitted in
the CI -1 Zone; and
WHEREAS, it is found that the use of the subject
property by Johnson County as an ambulance service
will not be incompatible or conflict with other uses
permitted in the CI -1 Zone.
NOW, MRFFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY U CITY CDIN-
CIL OF IDA CITY, IO.dA:
SECTION I. ZONING APEWENT: That the property
described below is er y reclassified from its
present classification of CI -1 to P:
The north 37 feet of the south 45 feet of Lot 7,
Block 28, County Seat Addition to lana City,
Iowa, according to the recorded plat thereof.
And also conveying the north 35 feet of Lot 7.
SECTION II. ZONING NAP. The Building Inspector is
hereby authorized irected to change the zoning
map of the City of Iowa City, Nara, to conform to
this arrendnent upon final passage, approval and
publication of this Ordinance as provided by law.
SECTION III. CERTIFICATION AND RECORDING. The City
Clerk is hereby au onza directed to certify a
copy of this Ordinance vhich shall be recorded at
the Office of the County Recorder of Johnson County,
Iowa, upon final passage and publication as provided
by law.
SECTION IV. REPEALER: All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict with the provision of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION V. SEVERABILITY: If any section, provision
or part of the Ordinance shall be adjudged to be
invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall
