are part of the Special Programs far
Students from Disadvantaged Backgrounds, and
Iuh a rz a s , the purposes of the ¢RIO Program are to identify
qualified individuals from low income families
who are the first generation in their families
to attend college, to prepare these students
for post -secondary education, to provide
special suppnrtiue services for Iow-income, first -
generation and phgsicaIig handicapped students
while they pursue programs of past-secandarg
education, and to train persons serving or
preparing for service in such programs, and

Branstad are signing proclamations designating
certain bags to give recognition to this program,
and
lutea r z a s , we wish to join in the recognition of this very
worthwhile prngram,
