KW, CITY CLOK 1 9 City of Iowa City MEMORANDUM Date: September 29, 1988 To: Planning & Zoning Commission From: Karin Franklin, Senior Planner Re: Amendment to Accessory Use Provisions of the Zoning Ordinance The enclosed amendment provides for accessory uses to manufacturing in commercial zones where manufacturing is permitted (limited manufacturing is permitted as a principal use only in the CI -1 zone). When the CI -1 zone was changed to permit a limited amount of manufacturing, Section 36- 65(d)(2) of the Code dealing with permitted accessory uses was not changed; technically, no accessory uses such as warehousing or offices would be permitted with establishment of a manufacturing use. The amendment proposed allows manufacturing uses to have any of the accessory uses currently permitted for commercial uses.
