As the Safety at Court Street and Chair of the Di strict wide parent OrganizationI have received several communications from parents and area residents concerning the hazardous pedestrian conditions Although there is a "walk" cycle to make Pedestrians, carcrossing safer For s traveling west on Court Street can and will turn into the pedestrian crosswalk during the "walk" cycle. Visibility is poor because of the wide angle and remember to look not only both ways, children must but also bahind them. The Longfellow PTA and the Principal, Tim Grieves, have expressed concern over the safety of the children crossing there are approximately 20 £smites . There the corner. whose children regularly cross at The DPO Executive Board requests that`the traffic light change at the City Council consider a City to make a pedestrian activated "walk only" cycle with no vehicle traffic. This type of traffic light is supported by the Longfellow PTA, the Longfellow principal, the DPO executive board and the superintendent.
