IOWA CITY, IOWA 52240 (319) 356 500 P R O C L A M A T I O N WHEREAS, Governor Terry Branstad has declared this year as "Iowa Homecoming 86" in Iowa, stating that it is "---a time for us to celebrate everything that is good about Iowa --our people, our heritage, our values and our traditions," and WHEREAS, Iowa City takes pride in having played a very important role throughout the years in shaping and influencing Iowa's heritage, values, and traditions, and WHEREAS, it is appropriate that Iowa City citizens observe Iowa Homecoming 86 and participate in the many related activities planned for our community, and WHEREAS, local business and industrial representatives and organizations will be actively promoting Iowa Homecoming 86, and WHEREAS, enthusiastic promotion of and support for Iowa Homecoming 86 on the part of all citizens, interest groups and community organizations will enhance our efforts to promote statewide economic development and to restore a healthy economy to our home state, and WHEREAS, we are proud to be citizens of Iowa and we intend to support Iowa Homecoming 86 throughout this year and contribute to the success of this great celebration, NOW, THEREFORE, I, William J.
