to participate in the citizen participation process in Iowa City. Although
I have enjoyed my position on the Committee on Community Needs, I must sub-
mit this letter of resignation. I have accepted a position at the Univer-
sity of New Orleans and will be moving south shortly. Thank you again for

The duties of mebers of the Pesources Conserva-
tion Camnission will include serving as an advisory
body to the City Council of Iowa City, they shall
research, review, and recamrrd policies, rules,
regulations, ordinances, and budgets relating to
netters of energy and resource conservation and
Provide recamendations and reports to the City
Council on the activities of the Czmiission. The
Caonission shall exercise broad responsibility for
developrent of resource conservation policies and
shall pey special attention to long-range planning
and Programing. The Ommission shall, for the
public wQlfare, nuke recrnrnendations on energy
netters. These recomnadations may relate to local
gwerrmental and quasi -public agencies, private
residences and investrrmt properties, and office,
camuercial and industrial properties.
Iom City appointed merbers of boards and canmis-
sions must be qualified voters of the City of Iowa
City. The person appointed to this Camission shall
be, by training, education, Experience, or denon-
strated interest, knOwledgeable in netters pertain-
irg to energy use and conservation.
This appoinbrent will be made at the June 17,
1986, meeting of the City Council at 7:30 pun, in
the Council Charbers. Persons interested in being
considered for this position should contact the City
Clerk at the Civic Cuter, 410 E. Washington.

The Board of Library Trustees is a semi-
autono-mous body of nine persons erpow+ered by State Law to
plan, direct and control all affairs of the public
library. This includes determining long-range goals
of library service, adoptirg written policies to
govern operation of the library and erploying a
competent staff to help plan and inpleneht the
Board's service goal.
Iowa City appointed members of boards and cmmis-
