ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, BY i

ADOPTING THE 1984 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
WITH AMENDMENTS AND DELETING CHAPTER 11 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES. j
Notice is hereby given that a public
hearing will be held by the City Council i
j of Iowa City, Iowa, at 7:30 p.m, on the
E 26th day of February, 1985, in the Council
Chambers in the Civic Center, Iowa City,
Iowa; at which hearing the Council will
consider an ordinance amending Chapter 8
of the Code of Ordinances by creating
Article VII, Electricity. This notice is
given pursuant to Chapter 414.4 of the
Code of Iowa, 1983.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BUDGET ESTIMATE
Fiscal Year July 1, 1985 — June 30, 1986
City of Iowa City ,Iowa
The City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 1985.86 Budget at
410 East Washington Street Civic Center
on February 26 , 1985, beginning at 7:30 o'clock. m.
The Budget Estimate Summary of proposed receipts and expenditures is shown below. Copies
of the detailed proposed 1985-1986 Budget may be obtained or viewed at the offices of the
mayor and clerk and at the city library.
The estimated total tax levy per $1000 valuation on regular property is $ 10.885
The estimated tax levy on agricultural land only, per $1000 valuation is $ 3.004
At the public hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor
of, any part of the proposed budget. y

This packet provides information on the FY86 OperatingBudget
and the Capital Imrpovements Program (FY86-90) approved by
City Council. The February 26, 1985, public hearing is sched-
ule to receive public input on both Budgets as presented herein.
Final revisions to the Budgets and final Council approval of
the Budgets will occur at the March 12, 1985, Council meeting
at 7:30 p.m.
Property tax levies and Human Services Agency fundings are de-
tailed in the Budget -In -Brief.
Copies of the detailed proposed Budgets are available at the
Office of the Director of Finance.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED
SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF THE PARCEL OF LAND
KNOWN AS PARCEL A-1, LOCATED IN THE LOWER
RALSTON CREEK AREA OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, FOR
PRIVATE REDEVELOPMENT.
The City of Iowa City hereby gives
notice that a public hearing on the
proposed sale and conveyance of the parcel
of land known as Parcel A-1, located in
the Lower Ralston Creek Area of Iowa City,
Iowa, for private redevelopment, will be
held February 26, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. in
the Council Chambers, Iowa City Civic
Center, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa
City, Iowa.
Thereafter, the City of Iowa City may
enter into such contract for sale of land
for private redevelopment of said Parcel
A-1 as it deems appropriate in the public
interest.
