I have had a profound appreciation for the beauty of buildings and homes of all types and from all periods. In my adult years, I have been fortunate to visit some of the world's architectural masterpieces. It has superior representations of so many periods and from some of the world's great architects. There are beautiful homes that have been meticulously cared for, and others that need to be kept from further deterioration or demolition. The revitalization and preservation of the city's historic buildings together with the development of cutting-edge architecture throughout the city is something I am strongly committed to. WHAT CONTRIBUTIONS DO YOU FEEL YOU CAN MAKE TO THIS ADVISORY BOARD (OR STATE REASON FOR APPLYING)? I have done my best to understand the complex issues before the Commission. So much is happening in the broadband areas that it is truly difficult to sort it all out. From cable/satellite TV to WiFi to the Internet, there is a vast minefield of problems/situations, not to mention potentially damaging legislation. While I don't pretend to have all the answers, I am active on the commission, and genuinely motivated to assist. I have grave concerns for the future of the public access channels, and for the future of the ICTC itself. I continue to strongly object to the IC City Council misappropriating $100,000, annually, from cable TV revenues to place in the General Fund. I don't believe this money should be spent on stoplights and fixing potholes.
