The State Code provides for a mandatory 14 -day suspension of the beer permit in the event of such a conviction. Action: ✓rrlu6 7x�bicla«c� ITEM N0. 5 " CONSfDER NDUSTRIALCE TO PROPERTY ESTABLISH RTIAL PROPERW TAX EXEMP CONSIDERATION) Comment: In accordance with the City Council's policy to encourage economic development in Iowa City, the proposed ordinance permits the abatement of property taxes over a five- year period on new construction on industrial properties and on expansions of industrial uses, as defined by Chapter 427 of the Iowa Code. A memo is included in the agenda packet reporting the percentage of the tax burden carried by industrial uses in Iowa City and evaluating the impact of tax abatement on Millard Warehouse.
