Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa. Paragraph 403A.28 State Code of Iowa requires this Public Hearing prior to undertaking this low-cost housing project. The Iowa City Housing Authority proposes to acquire and operate ten (10) dwelling units pursuant to the United States Housing Act of 1937 as amended. This Act authorizes the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide financial and technical assistance to public housing agencies for the development and operation of low-income housing. HUD has published a Notification of Housing Assistance Availability for the State of Iowa. The Iowa City Housing Authority has requested an allocation of ten (10) dwelling units designed for occupancy by low-income families. These units range in size from three or more bedrooms units. The structure will be acquired from existing housing units. Name, possible locations and estimated costs will be discussed at said hearing. Funds for development, construction, and operation can be provided by HUD. Eligible family occupancy will pay 30% of family income for rent.
