in Los Angeles, California, and
CHEREAS, three farmer University of Iowa Hawkege wrestlers -
Cau Banarh, Ed Banach and Wag Lewis - earned gall
medals as champions in their respective weight classes
and Barry Davis of the HawkeUe wrestling squad earned
a silver medal in his weight class, and
WHEREAS, Hawkege IDrestling Coach Dan Gable, assisted bg farmer
Hawheye Coach J. Robinson, successfulig carried an
the tradition of excellence as coaches of the Olympic
IDrestling team which men seven gold medals far the
United States of America, and
MUEREAS, Iawa Head Basketball Coach George Raveling, as assis-
tant to Olympic Basketball Coach Babbg Knight, ablg
assisted in guiding the United States Olympic Basket-
ball team to its gala medal victnrg, and

competitive spirit and personal dedication to excellence
far which Iowa Rawkege athletes and coaches are recog-
nised and respected bg their friends and neighbors in
our cnmmunitU and throughout the nation as well, and
OI(EREAS, Coach Gable, Coach Raveling, Coach Robinson, Lou Banach,
Ed Banach, Randg Lewis, and BarrU Davis deserve singular
recognition and commendation far their outstanding
achievements in the Oigmpir Games,

CHEREAB, for nearly thirty -Five years the American Business
women's Association has been building a tradition
based an its continuing efforts to provide opportuni-
ties for educational advancement to women, and
WHEREAS, business, economic and social analyses indicate that
as women continue to enter the work farce and attain
increasingly responsible positinns, them will contri-
bute to the betterment of business and communities,
and
CH£REAS, last year ASWA's more than 2,100 local chapters
awarded over $2 million in scholarships to women, and
in addition, the Association's national scholarship
fund has awarded scholarships surpassing $2.5 million
since its inception in 1953, and
IDHEREAS, the members of the American Business women's Associa-
tion recognize that education and training are crucial
in Wag's technological society, and
IDIIEREAS, the ABIDA chapters across the cnuntry are observing
September 22 as American Business Women's Dam to
recognize the tremendous input women have made and
are making in the business world,
