NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER AN
AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE, FLOOD
HAZARD OVERLAY ZONE.
Notice is hereby given that a public
hearing will be held by the City Council
of Iowa City, Iowa, at 7:30 p.m. on the
11th day of September, 1984, in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Iowa
City, Iowa; at which hearing the Council
will consider a proposed ordinance
amending the flood hazard overlay zone,
Section 36-31(c) and Section 36-32(d), to
adopt a new flood map and a new flood
insurance study. This notice is given
pursuant to Chapter 414.4 of the Code of
Iowa, 1984.

Public notice is hereby given that
the City Council of the City of Iowa
City, Iowa, will conduct a public
hearing on plans, specifications, form
of contract and estimated cost for the
construction of the Mercer Park Ball
Diamond Fence Project in said City at
7:30 p.m. on the 11th day of September,
1984, said meeting to be held in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center in
said city.
Said plans, specifications, form of
contract and estimated cost are now on
file in the office of the City Clerk in
the Civic Center in Iowa City, Iowa,
and may be inspected by any persons
interested.
Any persons interested may appear at
said meeting of the City Council for
the purpose of making objections to
said plans, specifications, contract or
the cost of making said improvement.
This notice is given by order of the
City Council of the City of Iowa City,
Iowa.

FOR SIGNAGE ON CITY PROPERTY
Notice is hereby given that the City
Council of Iowa City, Iowa, will hold a
public hearing at its July 31, 1984
meeting, 7:30 p.m. at 410 E. Washington
St., Iowa City, Iowa, to consider a
proposed easement agreement for signage
between the City of Iowa City Harry A.
Johnson, Jr., dba Mid -City Hotel Associ-
ates - Iowa City. Additional information
is available at the office of the City
Clerk, 410 E. Washington St., Iowa City,
Iowa 52240, between 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p,m.,
Monday -Friday. Written comment on this
proposed easement may be submitted in

Re: Signage for Holiday Inn on City Property
Included in your agenda packet is an item continuing the public hearing for
comment on the proposed easement agreement between the City of Iowa City and
the Holiday Inn developer for placement of two Holiday Inn signs on adjacent
City -owned property.
One sign would be located above the entrance of the Dubuque Street Parking
Ramp and would be approximately 16 square feet in size. The second proposed
sign is an 11 foot high pole -type sign with a 15 foot square sign. with a
directional arrow, reading "Holiday Inn" with the starburst trademark.
Minutes from the last Hotel Steering Committee/Design Review Committee
meeting at which these signs were discussed are also included in the agenda
packet.

ORDINANCES OF IOWA CITY, IOWA, BY REVISING
THE REQUIREMENT FOR MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC
AREAS TO INCLUDE THE STRIPING AND MARKING
OF INDIVIDUAL PARKING SPACES.
Notice is hereby given that a public
hearing will be held by the City Council
of Iowa City, Iowa, at 7:30 p.m. on the
11th day of September, 1984, in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Iowa
City, Iowa; at which hearing the Council
will consider the proposed amendment to
Chapter 17 of the Code of Ordinances of
Iowa City, Iowa. This notice is given

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a Public
Hearing will be held on Tuesday,
September 11, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, Civic Center, 410 E.
Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa.
403A.28, State Code of Iowa, requires this
Public Hearing prior to undertaking this
housing project. The Iowa City Housing
Authority has applied for fourteen (14)
Section 8 Existing Housing Certificates.
These certificates will be utilized in
conjunction with a Rental Rehabilitation
Program being pursued by the City of Iowa
City under the provisions of Section 17 of
the United States Housing Act of 1937. If
approved, these 14 certificates will be an
extension of the present Section 8 Housing
Assistance Payments program now admini-
stered by the Iowa City Housing Authority.
The units may range in size from one to
four bedroom units and will be located
within the corporate limits of Iowa City.
Eligible families will pay 30% of family
income for rent. Funds for the Housing
Assistance Payments will be provided by
the Department of Housing and Urban
Development and could amount to $60,984
per year. For additional information
