HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-12-23 CorrespondenceCity of Iowa Cif' MEMORANDUM Date: December 5, 1983 To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: James Brachtel, Traffic Engineer Re: Taxicab Stand in 400 Block of East College Street As directed by Section 23-16 of the Municipal Code of Iowa City, this is to advise you of the following action: ACTION: Pursuant to Section 23-290 of the Municipal Code of Iowa City, the City Traffic Engineer will direct the installation of a taxicab stand on the south side of the 400 block of East College Street. The taxicab stand will be located in the second metered parking stall east of Gilbert Street. This metered stall is known as C-133. This action will take place on or shortly after December 21, 1983. COMMENT: This action is being taken at the request of Jo Wittenberg of the A-1 Cab, Inca No action will be taken until the City Clerk has received from A-1 Cab, Inc. the annual fee for this taxicab stall. cc: Joe Fowler Marian Karr be ... The meeting was called to order and there were present Mary Neuhauser Mayor, in the chair, and the following named Council Members: Balmer, Dickson, McDonald, Neuhauser Perret Absent: Erdahl, Lynch The City Council investigated and found that notice of intention to issue Clinic Revenue Bonds, Series 1983 (Wallace, Rosenberger & Hackbarth Project) in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed .$619,670 had, as directed by the City Council, been duly given according to law. This being the time and place specified in the notice for the conduct of a public hearing on the proposal to issue such Bond, the Mayor announced that all local residents attending the hearing would now be given an opportunity to express their views for or against the proposal to issue the Bond. The following local residents expressed their views as follows: None i The following local residents who had submitted written comments prior to the hearing expressed their views in such written comments as follows: None I 1. -1- 4 _ I . .._. BY JORM MICR¢LAB 1 4 CEDAR RXP!DS • DES MOINES I ..� After all local residents who desired to do so had expressed their views for or against the proposal to issue the Bond, Council Member Balmer introduced a Resolution entitled: "Resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of Clinic Revenue Bond, (Wallace, Rosenberger & Hackbarth Project) of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, in the principal amount of $619,670, to finance the costs of acquisition by construction or purchase of land, buildings, equipment and improvements suitable for use as a medical practice office building; the execution of a Lender Loan Agreement with First National Bank, Iowa City, Iowa providing the terms and sale of such bond; the execution and delivery of a Loan Agreement with Wallace, Rosenberger & Hackbarth Building Partnership providing for the repayment of the loan of the proceeds of such bond, and related matters", and moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Dickson After due consideration of said resolution by the Council, the Mayor put the question on the motion and upon the roll being called the following named Council Members voted: Ayes: Balmer, Dickson, McDonald, Perret Nays: Neuhauser Whereupon the Mayor declared said Resolution duly adopted and approval was signed thereto.
