You and each of you are hereby notified that pursuant to the authority
vested in the Mayor of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, or under State Law
and the Ordinances of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, as Mayor I hereby
call a special meeting on'March 8, 1982 at 4:30 o'clock P.M., to be held
in the Conference Room of the Civic Center of Iowa City, Iowa. i
The meeting is called for the purpose of:
1. Consideration of a resolution amending contract for technical
services between the City of Iowa City and Zuchelli, Hunter R
Associates, Inc.
2. Consideration of a resolution adopting the annual budget for the
fiscal year ending June 30, 1983.
3. City Council appointments on Committee on Community Needs, Airport
Commission, and Broadband Telecommunications Commission.
4. Announcement of two vacancies on the Housing Commission.
5. Two City Council appointments to Department Store/Hotel Coordinating
Committee.
6. Setting a public hearing re additional taxicab service for Hawkeye
Cab Company. j
7. Consider motion amending color scheme and name change for City Cab
Company.

between groups and citizens of Iowa City and the
City Council and staff and then to responsibly

to meet the community's needs.

on matters of interest to our community and its future. Applicants must reside in Iowa City.
The City Council announces advisory board vacancies 60 days prior to the date the
appointment will be made. This 60 -day period provides for a 30 -day advertising period and a 30 -
day training period for new members. The training period allows new members to become familiar
with the responsibilities and duties of the advisory board before becoming a full voting
member.

AIRPORT COMMISSION
One vacancy - Six-year term
March 1, 1982 - March 1, 1988
Duties: To exercise all the powers granted to
cities and towns under Chapter 330 of the Code of
Iowa, except the power to sell said airport. To
annually certify the amount of taxes within the
limitations of the Statutes of the State of Iowa,
to be levied for airport purposes. All funds de-
rived from taxation or otherwise for airport pur-
poses shall be under the full and absolute control
of the Airport Commission, deposited with the City
Treasurer, and disbursed only on the written war-
rants or orders of the Airport Commission.
Iowa City appointed members of boards and commis-
sions must be qualified voters of the City of Iowa
City.
This appointment will be made at the March 2,
1982, meeting of the City Council at 7:30 P.M. in
the Council Chambers. Persons interested in being
considered for this position should contact the
City Clerk, Civic Center, 410 East Washington.

The duties of the Broadband Telecommunications Com-

scriber and the cablevision company; reviewing and
auditing reports by the cablevision company to the
City as required by the Cable Television Ordinance;
working with the public, the media, the City, and
the cablevision company.for the purpose of making
recommendations on various issues; engaging in
other activities pursuant to the effective monitor-
ing and evaluation of the CATV system in the City.

York Stock Exchange. Scientific Atlanta is the largest supplier of
electronic head end equipment to the cable industry. Some of the
electronic equipment used by Hawkeye was purchased from Scientific Atlanta.
This purchase (and future purchasesof similar equipment) is not within
the jurisdiction of the BTC--i.e. Hawkeye and its parent ATC decides
