ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES.
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will
be held by the City Council of Iowa City, Iowa, at
7:30 P.M. on the 8th day of June, 1982, in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Iowa City,
Iowa; at which hearing the Council will consider an
ordinance amending Section 8.10.3; 8.10.28.C, D, F; {
8.10.28.H.1.(a); and 8.10.29.A, B. of the Zoning
Ordinance establishing a "Zoning Code
Interpretation Panel" and making it responsible for
all zoning interpretations. In the case where a
decision cannot be reached by that body, the City
Manager will be responsible for the final
interpretation. Copies of the proposed ordinance
are on file for public examination in the office of
the City Clerk, Civic Center, Iowa City, Iowa.
This notice is given pursuant to Chapter 362.3 of
the Code of Iowa, 1981.

TO JUNE 8TH TO CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 8.10.25 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES.
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will
be held by the City Council of Iowa City, Iowa, at
7:30 P.M. on the 8th day of June, 1982, in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Iowa City,
Iowa; at which hearing the Council will consider an
ordinance amending Section 8.10.25 of the Zoning
Ordinance prohibiting off-street vehicular parking
in locations other than valid parking spaces except
in the case of single and two family dwellings
where parking shall be permitted anywhere on the
drive. Copies of the proposed ordinance are on
file for public examination in the office of the
City Clerk, Civic Center, Iowa City, Iowa. This
notice is given pursuant to Chapter 362.3 of the
Code of Iowa, 1981.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will
be held by the City Council of Iowa City, Iowa, on
the 8th day of June, 1982, in the Civic Center
Council Chambers, 410 E. Washington Street, at
7:30 P.M., in consideration of an amendment to
Chapter 8.10 of the Zoning Ordinance of the
Municipal Code of the City of Iowa City to limit
construction within a designated area for a maximum
period of six months pending a decision to rezone
all or part of the area. The area affected by this
interim ordinance is the R3A area as shown on the
City of Iowa City zoning map on file in the office
of the City Clerk for public examination and
generally illustrated on the location map included
in this notice and generally described as follows:
Beginning at a point at the intersection of
Johnson Street and Jefferson Street,
Proceeding easterly along Jefferson to a point
at the intersection of Jefferson and Governor,
thence southerly along Governor to Ralston
Creek, thence easterly along Ralston Creek to
Evans St. and continuing east approximately
160 feet along Ralston Creek to a point,
thence south through S.M. Clark's Addition to
Woodlawn, thence along the easterly lot line
of Lot 1 of S.M. Clark's Addition, thence
southerly along Muscatine to the intersection
of Washington Street and Muscatine, thence
south between Lots 3 and 7 of Fry's
Subdivision, thence west along the alley on
the' northern lot line of Lot 3 J. & J.W.
Clark's Addition, thence south through Lot 3
Of J. &. J.W. Clark's Addition to College
Street, thence south along the easterly lot
line of Lot 9 and 25 J. & J.W. Clark's Addition
to Burlington Street, thence south between
Lots 2 and 3 of Kauffman's Addition, thence
westerly between Lots 2 and 23 and 1 and 24 of
Kauffman's Addition to Summit Street, thence
south approximately 80 feet along Summit St.,
thence west through Outlot 1, 29, 28 Original
Town on an irregular line and as shown on said
zoning map to the alley, thence south along
the alley paralleling Dodge Street to the
Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad
tracks, thence northwesterly along the
railroad right-of-way to the westerly lot line
of Lot 4 Lyon's First Addition, thence
northerly along an alley paralleling Van Buren
Street to Ralston Creek, thence northeasterly
along Ralston Creek to Van Buren Street,

concerning said amendment, either verbally or in

at the above-mentioned time and place. This notice
is given pursuant to Chapter 362.3 of the Code of

RE: CITY OF IOWA CITY TRANSIT MAINTENANCE FACILITY
PROJECT

I. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing
will be held by the Iowa City City Council in }
the City Civic Center Council Chambers, 410 E.
Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa at 7:30 PM
on June 8, 1982, for the purpose of consider-.
ing a project for which financial assistance {
is being sought from the Urban Mass Transpor-
tation Administration, pursuant to the Urban
Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended,
generally described as follows:

A. Description of Project
The project consists of designing and
constructing a new Iowa City Transit
maintenance, storage, and administrative
facility. Federal financial assistance
will be used to partially support the
engineering and design, construction, !
and furnishings of the proposed facility.
The site of this proposed facility is on
City owned property at the corner of
1 Highways 6, 218, and 1 directly adjacent
to the existing Iowa City Service
Building area. A preliminary cost
estimate of this facility and furnishings
is approximately $2 million dollars, of
j which 20% ($400,000) will be from City of 1
Iowa City funds and 80% ($1.6 million)
will be from the U.S. Department of
Transportation.
B. Relocation:
No persons, families, or businesses will
be displaced by this project. j
C. Environment:
It has been determined that this project
will not have significant environmental
impact on the Iowa City urban area.

D. Comprehensive Planning:
This project is in conformance with the
existing Iowa City Comprehensive Plan and
other transportation plans for this area.

E. Elderly and Handicapped:
The proposed facility will be designed so
that it is accessible to the elderly and
handicapped.
II. At the hearing, the City will afford an
opportunity for interested persons or agencies
to be heard with respect to the social,
economic, and environmental aspects of the
project. Interested persons may submit orally
or in writing evidence and recommendations
with respect to said project.
III. A copy of the federal grant application for
the proposed project, together with an
environmental analysis and the transportation
plan for this area, is currently available for
public inspection at the Office.of the City
Clerk, Iowa City Civic Center, 410 E.
Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52240.
