following paragraph:
K. Facia Sign. A single -face sign
which is within the perimeter and
parallel to or at an angle of not
more than 45 degrees from the wall
of the building on which it is
mounted. Such signs do not extend
more than one (1) foot out from
vertical walls or more than one (1)
foot out at the sign's closest point
from non -vertical walls.
B. Section 8.10.35.1L.1 of the Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by deleting
said section and replacing it with the
following paragraph:
L.1 Front Wall. The wall of a building
upon which a sign is mounted which
defines the exterior boundaries of
the side of the building on which
the sign is mounted and which has a
slope of 45 degrees or greater with
the horizontal plane. Where a
building contains two or more uses,
the front wall of a building as used
herein shall also mean the portion
of the wall of the building that
constitutes the exterior wall of
each use.
SECTION 3. REPEALER. All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict with the provision of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY. If any section, provi-
sion or part of the Ordinance shall be adjudged to
be invalid or unconstitutional, such ajudication
shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a
whole or any section, provision or part thereof not
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall
be in effect after its.final passage, approval and
publication as required by law.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING
ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE USE REGULATIONS
OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R3 to R3A ZONE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
IOWA CITY, IOWA:
SECTION I. That the property described below is
hereby reclassified from its present classification
of R3 and the boundaries of R3A as indicated upon
the Zoning Map of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, shall
be enlarged to include the following property, to
wit:
Commencing at the NW corner of Melrose
Park Addition to University Heights as
recorded in Plat Book 4, page 420, of the
.Johnson County Recorder's Office; thence

and directed to certify a copy of this ordinance to
the County Recorder of Johnson County, Iowa, upon
final passage and publication as provided by law.
