Exhibit Hall Letter (1).pdf
Hello Stefanie,
As you may know, the Iowa City Refugee Alliance is hosting a Refugee Summit on June 16 and 17 at West
High. I am in charge of the Exhibit Hall.
Attached is an 'official' invitation to the IC Human Rights Commission to have a display in the Exhibit Hall. If
this is of interest, please let me know.
Best wishes,
Jim
IC Compassion and other area organizations are excited to be sponsoring a Refugee Summit in
celebration of World Refugee Day. IC Compassion was established as a faith -based 501c 3
nonprofit organization in 2006. Our mission is to engage culturally diverse communities
together through hope, opportunities and partnerships. Together we equip people at their
point of need to move out of poverty and inspire them to be of service to others.
The summit is targeting interested organizations, community members, and refugees. The
event will take place at West High on Friday, June 16th (9AM-413M) and Saturday, June 171h
(9AM-40M). The goals are to Increase awareness and understanding of both the contributions
and the needs of refugees in the community, to celebrate the diversity and richness that
refugees bring to our community, and to bring community members and partners together to
collaborate and engage on a greater level with the refugee community. We anticipate 300
attendees and 75 volunteers.
As part of the summit, we are offering organizations that serve refugees the opportunity to
share information about their services in an exhibit hall. The hall will be open before sessions
begin, and also during breaks and lunch. If you would like to participate in the exhibit hall,
please provide confirmation to Jim Olson (jimolson921t7a gmail.com} by June 1. Ifyou wish to
attend sessions and/orjoin us for lunch, please register in advance. Registration is available on
the IC Compassion website (www_iccompassion.org) will be open until June 1st, or until all
tickets are sold.
Sincerely,:_ l
