Consider an ordinance opening Melrose Court to motor vehicular traffic from only Greenwood Drive. (second consideration) Comment: The ordinance, if approved, would open the eastern terminus of Melrose Court to motor vehicular traffic from only Greenwood Drive by relocating the existing traffic island directly west of Greenwood Drive on Myrtle Avenue. The only bid received was for $195,941.57. The engineer's estimate was $137,873.45. Page 5 1 Item No. 9 - CONSIDER RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT �a g WITH VEENSTRA AND KIMM, INC. Comment: This eighth amendment to the contract with Veenstra and Kimm, Inc., will provide services to begin the design of the southeast interceptor system, University Heights system, sewer system rehabilitation, and outfall relief system sewer improvements. See memorandum attached to the agenda. Action: Item No. 10 : CONSIDER RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 80=91, CLASSIFICATION i PLAN, BY CHANGING THE AUTHORIZED POSITIONS IN THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT. Comment: This resolution eliminates the Budget Administrator position and creates an accountant position. Detailed information on this action is included in the computer acquisition.recommendation to the Council. Action: Ve.J I I" Ve,) Item No. 11 = CONSIDER RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 80=91, CLASSIFICATION PLAN, BY REINSTATING A POSITION OF HOUSING INSPECTOR UNTIL JANUARY 1, 1981. Comment: A memorandum concerning this matter is attached to the agenda. Action: �Plt� l Ew BaQ. a�� �0 Item No. 12 = CONSIDER RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF IOWA CITY AND THE STATE OF IOWA (IOWA STATE HISTORICAL DEPARTMENT, DIVISION OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION). Comment: The Division of Historic Preservation has been designated by the State to award matching grants=in=aid in Iowa for projects having as their purpose the preservation for public benefit of properties that are significant in American architecture. The Senior Center having met their qualifications has been awarded $23,000 to use as a match in repairing the roof, masonry, and Linn Street doors. Page 6 Item No. 13 s CONSIDER RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF INTENT TO ACCEPT A PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE AND REDEVELOP CERTAIN URBAN RENEWAL PROPERTY FROM PLAZA TOWERS ASSOCIATES. Comment: Prior to execution of a Contract for Sale of Land for Private Redevelopment between the City and Plaza Towers Associates, a joint venture of Plaza Retail Associates and Towers Hotel Associates, 30 day notice must be afforded the public. The proposed contract, a staff report summarizin? the agreement, and a report concerning Plaza Towers Associates compliance with the requirements established in the resolution designation the Redeveloper will be given to the Council on Monday. This material will not be completed before Monday as all documents will not be filed by the developer until Friday. Action: (?01?— I�X4-" Item No. 14 a RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING JUST COMPENSATION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PHASE II OF THE LOWER RALSTON CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROJECT (PARCEL N12). Comment: Real property acquisition regulations of the Department of Housing and Urban Development require that the local public agency formally establish just compensation for each parcel to be acquired prior to , beginning negotiations.
