Lowell Cross appeared re traffic at corner of
Seventh Ave./Glendale Rd. & requested a 4 -way stop.
It was the consensus of a majority of
Councilmembers; that as an experiment, 4 -way stop
signs be'installed with warning ;Slow' signs at the
top of the hill.
i Public hearing was held on the Ord. Amending
Ord. 77 2859 which adopted the. Uniform Building
Code Standards & Uniform ,Building Code, 1976
i Editions, subj. to certain amendments.

approve the appointment of:Stan Aldinger to the
Mayor's Youth Employment Board as recommended by
the Iowa City Community School Dist. Motion

Neuhauser complimented Agnes Kuhn on the Human
Rights commercial aired on radio.

Corporation ,for low-income
housing. Motion carried unanimously, 7/0, all

Citizen. Clerk commended for short minutes publication
in comparison to County expenditure.
P. Bldg. InspectorSiders noted that 10 or 15% of Iowa
City contractors capable of inspecting for energy

code requirements. Charge, is '$AS, usually, ',for
architects stamp of approval .'If a house plan is
certified once, it does not have to be certified
every time it is used.
G. Neuhouser`reported on Assoc. Retired People meeting
attended where Kucharzak $ Sheets made an excellent

H. Neuhauser'suggested that all members take the CCN bus
trip tont block grant programs, possibly at an
informal meeting. Tentatively set for 10/16.

I. Ncuhauser reported that she had been asked to serve on
t
a'joint committee, Nat. League of Cities $ Nat. City
Mgrs,. Assn., dealing primarily with Financial` Management.
First meeting; Cincinnati, 10/16; cannot attend St. Louis
meeting; fi final meeting is Washington' D.C.';',with City'
paying expenses.' There were no objections to Neuhauser's
serving on the 'Committee.
J. Truck Embargo -As the City Mgr. had to leave the meeting,
he noted that he would like to see the City do, something,
about the problem on Kirkwood, but not an embargo.
EXECUTIVE SESSION 2;30 PM. Moved by Neuhauser, seconded by I
Forret to adjourn to executive session to discuss possible
property sites for public housing. Affirmative roll call
vote unanimous, 7/0', all,Councilmembers present'. Also
