THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 30th day of April 1974, by and between the City of Iowa City, Iowa, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as the City, and Johnson County, Iowa, hereinafter referred to as the County. WHEREAS, the City has obtained:a- Federal grant to assist in the enforcement and prevention of sex crimes, and WHEREAS, as a part of said Federal grant an attorney is to be employed to assist law enforcement personnel in the area of sex crime prevention and to assist in :the prosecution of sex offenses and to act as a resource` person in the area of sex crime prevention, and WHEREAS, the City and the County desire to enter into this Agreement in order zto formalize the ai-rangement;concerning `the employ- ment of the attorney under, this -.grant. - his grant.IT ISTHEREFORE'AGREED_AS FOLLOWS: 'ITIS -THEREFORE AGREEDAS 1. That the County shall employ a Special Assistant County Attorney, under the direction and supervision of the -Johnson County Attorney, to provide the following services: a. Offer. legal advice on specific cases under investigation as requested by law enforcement personnel. b. Prov�dea instruction to police personnel as designated by 'the Director of Public -Safety of Ther City: ; c. In the event this Project is financed with Federal funds, the CITY shall _take whatever action may be necessary to comply with applicable Federal Laws and Regulations. 4. All changes of 'utility facilities shall be perfo_:<ed b1 the CITY in accordance with the Utilities Accom^,zodations Policies of -the -STAT _- 1 5. 6. - r C 2 2. The -CITY shall prepare and submit for STATE approval all plans necessary for installation of traffic signal protection facilities a_t,the location. Upon such approval of plans by the STATE, the'CITZ shall provide all materials and services to complete said installations in accordance therewith,__and shall bear all costs incident thereto. _ 3_ In the event this Project.is financed tjith Federal funds, the CITY shall take whatever - action may, -be --necessary to comply with applicable Federal Laws and Regulations_ - --4.- All changes of 'utility facilities shall be performed by the CITY in_accordance-with:the Utilities Accommodations - Policies of the STATE It is agreed that no_new_or future utility occupancy of - - Project right-of-way, nor any future relocations of or alterations to existing utilities within such limits, shall be_permitted or underta7-en by the .CITY without the prior written consent of the STATE. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Utilities Accomn;,datians - Policies and other applicable- requirements of the STATE. 5. Upon completion_of_the Project, the CITY will provide materials-certification_and also certify thatthe project was completed in 'accordance with the plans and specifications_ '6.
