Mr. Cahill is a longtime resident of Iowa City He has served both the community and his Church with faithfulness and effectiveness through many years. Ron is a lifetime resident of Iowa City, has been active in politics, particularly as they relate to our School Board, and was an unsuccessful candidate for School Board several years ago. Ron is one of the fine young leaders in Gloria Dei congregation. I certainly hope ,that Mr. Jerry Hilgenberg continues to serve on the Commission on Parks and Recreation. I'am particularly supportive of his stand concerning the recreational use of the Iowa River, and feel that he has done an excellent job along with other members Of the 'commission in regard to parks and recreation. While I know this nomination is early, for the vacancy does not take place until May, I would like to nominate Mrs. Mary Fuller to the commission for Area Social Concerns. Mrs. Fuller, who lives at 1401 Oaklawn, is Director of Nursing at Mercy Hospital. She has been a resident of Iowa City for about 12 years. Mrs. Fuller is a very bright and sensitive lady with excellent administrative ability which, coupled with her sensitivity to others and a logical mind that allows her to know and to articulate what she knows, would make her an asset to any of the commissions, but I do believe that the Area of Social Concerns is the commission to which she would bring her professional expertise.
