Mr'. Putnam's backyard is the low spot in the area and has been graded to receive the drainage of the adjacent area. 'Additionally, a requirement of the subdevelopment was to provide an area inlet in his backyard which is in fact in place and operating. I believe Mr. Putnam's complaint is based primarily on the fact 'that ,the area inlet is not maintained free 'of sticks and other obstructions during heavy rains with the resulting problem of ponding of water. I cannot recommend ditching along the extension of Lakeside Drive in that it would result in the erosion of any ditches in front of Grantwood School which in turn would result in mud being washed out on the municipality's portion of Lakeside Drive. As this storm drainage problem was part of the design of the storm sewerage for. the Lakeside development I do not feel it is the City's responsibility to alleviate a problem which was inherrent if the developer wished to utilize the ground in its natural topography.
