The date of sale has been, ` scheduled for December 6, 1973, in order that settlements on this issue can be completed prior to year end. This action is in accordance with the program established by Council in adopting the 1974 Operating Budget. At that time it was estimated that an issue of approximately $500,000 would be required before''year end; however, additional expenditures for the completion df -the Court Street Paving Project and Hwy, 218 improvements have been identified: which will necessitate a larger issue. A breakdown of how the proceeds of this loan will be used is as follows. Bridge. IOWA The bonds will be awarded to the pest bidder for each issue determined upon the basis of the lowest total interest cost at the rate or rates designated in his bid from November 1, '1973, to the respective final maturity dates, after deducting any premium. Combination bids on both issues will not be allowed and said bond issues will be sold separately to the bidder submitting the best bid. The maximum rate of interestwhich may be bid for either issue shall not exceed 6%. These bonds will constitute general obligations of the City payable from taxes levied upon all the taxable property in the City without limitation as to rate or amount. ,Said bonds are expected to be delivered within thirty (30) days after the sale at any mutually agreeable bank or trust company in the City -of Chicago, Illinois, or - Des Moines, Iowa, without expense to the purchaser. Should delivery be delayed beyond sixty (60) days from date of sale for any reason without the fault of the City, or except, failure of performance by the purchaser, the purchaser, may withdraw, his check; and the his, -interest in and liability for the bonds will cease.
