The May 14th, 2009, meeting will be my last meeting as a member. I will no longer be eligible to be a member of the Committee because I am moving out of Iowa City. These circumstances were not foreseen when joining the Committee and were not confirmed until within the past two weeks. I apologize for any inconvenience and feel it was a real pleasure to serve during this short time. My goal on the Committee was to assist in the streamlining of the historic preservation process to make it easier for applicants. I hoped to bring a more open and understanding viewpoint so projects weren't as daunting for the typical applicant. Since coming before the committee over a year ago, I have seen a real change in culture ushered in by you towards making the process easier and would like to applaud you for it.
