Pursuant to the powers vested in me as Mayor under Section 372.14 of the Iowa Code, Section
8-1-2 of the City Code of Iowa City, and the Mayor's Proclamation of Civil Emergency signed
March 18, 2020, 1 deem it advisable that the deadlines for taxicab business licenses be further
extended and the authorizations for drivers and the requirement for annual taxicab inspections
be similarly extended.

the May 1 and June 1 deadlines for taxicab business licenses. Current taxicab business
licenses shall expire October 31, 2020. The deadline for submission of applications for
taxicab business licenses for 2020-2021 is extended to October 15, 2020.

year period of validity of a taxi driver's authorization to operate a taxicab. All driver

November 1, 2020. Although Resolution No. 16-191 requires drivers to pay a $15 fee to
renew their authorization, drivers whose authorizations would have expired between
March 18, 2020 and October 31, 2020 but for this order, shall not be required to pay the
$15 renewal fee. The renewal period shall be through the anniversary date of the
driver's authorization. By way of example, if a driver's authorization expired on May 15,

renewed authorization shall run through May 15, 2021.
