Forest View Relocation Proposal Assistant City Manager Kilburg presented an update and discussed eligibility of ARPA funds, self - attestation forms and timeline of release of funds which are projected by end of May. Individual Council members expressed their views. Senior Center Masterplan Senior Center Coordinator Latasha DeLoach presented information on the three phases for the Senior Center Masterplan. Joshua Mo with OPN presented an overview of the masterplan and touched on the following: Study Timeline D. Design process D Building timeline from 1904 — current D The Center Goals D Study Discoveries D Proposed kitchen plan D Proposed Level 3 "Lifelong learning" plan D Proposed Level 2 "Staff floor" plan D Proposed Level 1 " Social floor" plan D Optional ground level `Wellness floor" plan D Energy & Carbon Reduction goals D Projected Project Costs City Manager Fruin provided additional information. Individual Council members expressed their views. Clarification of Agenda items None Information Packet Discussion [April 7, April 14] April 7 1. (IP2: Letter from Mediacom: Mediacom's participation in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)). Councilor Bergus highlighted program and Councilor Weiner recommended to help spread word and have the information in multiple languages. Individual Council members expressed their views. Council Work Session April 19, 2022 Page 2 Action: Staff will consider the best way to promote the Federal Affordable Connection Program to local residents. Communication should focus on all participating providers in our area. 2. (IP3: Press Release: Volunteers are needed for Neighborhood Energy Blitz) Councilor Harmsen mentioned this event is still seeking volunteers for Earth Day Climate Action event. Individual Council members expressed their views. April 14 1 (IP4: Pending City Council Work Session Topics) Councilor Weiner mentioned past discussions regarding establishing a land acknowledgement and recommended having a Land Acknowledgement by Indigenous Peoples Day on October 11. Individual Council member expressed views. Action: Council indicated an interest in scheduling a time to discuss land acknowledgement in the upcoming work session. Mayor Teague, Mayor Pro Tem Alter and the City Manager's Office will consider the best opportunities. University of Iowa Student Government (USG) Updates Elizabeth Miglin, USG Alternate Liaison presented USG updates. Council updates on assigned boards, commissions, and committees Council members reported on various assigned boards, commissions, and committees. Adjourn 5:30 p.m.
