Summary of Minutes
September 6, 2022
Iowa City City Council special formal meeting, 4:00 p.m. held at City Hall — Emma J.
Harvat Hall, 410 E. Washington Street. Mayor Teague presiding. Council members
present: Alter, Bergus, Harmsen, Taylor, Teague, Thomas, Weiner. Absent: None. Staff
members present: Fruin, Goers, Fruehling. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were
affirmative and unanimous.
Moved by Taylor, seconded by Bergus, to adjourn to executive session to evaluate
the professional competency of individuals whose appointment, hiring, performance or
discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable
injury to those individuals' reputations and those individuals requested a closed session.
(City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk). The Mayor declared the motion carried
and adjourned into executive session 4:01 p.m.
Council returned to open session 4:56 p.m.
Moved by Alter, seconded by Bergus, to adjourn special meeting 4:57 p.m.
