ITEM NO. 3 CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 4, ENTITLED
"ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES," CHAPTER 5, ENTITLED
"PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS," OF THE CITY CODE
TO PROHIBIT PERSONS WHO ARE UNDER NINETEEN (19)
YEARS OF AGE FROM ENTERING OR REMAINING IN
ESTABLISHMENTS WITH LIQUOR CONTROL LICENSES OR
WINE OR BEER PERMITS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10:00 PM
AND CLOSING. (SECOND CONSIDERATION)
Lehman: (Reads item)
Champion: Move second consideration.
Vanderhoefi Second.
Lehman: Moved by Champion, seconded by Vanderhoef. Discussion.
Champion: I have a point, just a minor thing to discuss but I think it probably is a
good time to do it. The bar owners agreed to have, or even suggested, that
they have a follow up committee to follow this over the next year or how
ever long we're going to test this. I didn't know if this should be a City
Council committee or whether it should be a bar owners committee but I
think we ought to have someone from the City Council on it. If we want
to decide who's on it maybe we need to have it be a City Council
committee.
Vanderhoefi Ah, Connie. Steven and I approached that with the Student Senate the day
after that last meeting and I'm waiting for word back from them because
we sorta outlined a committee and a mission, committee parameters, and
stated a problem up front and I was going to distribute that at the next
packet time so you had a chance to look at it and I had asked that it be put
on the agenda for the next working meeting.
Champion: Ok.
Vanderhoef: If that's alright.
Champion: Oh, sure.
Leb_man: I think that's a great idea.
O'Donnell: Good idea.
Lehman: Any other discussion?

Wilburn: The only other thing that I'll add is that just a reminder that we are
considering the 19 only because 21 ceased to exist because only three
Council Members supported it at the last meeting. It wasn't the
progression of what happened on how 21 ceased to exist didn't really get
recorded in the media I though. Just stating it because the cameras are
here.
Lehman: Good. Other discussion? (roll call) Motion carried unanimously.
Karr: Motion to accept correspondence.
Champion: So moved.
O'Donnell: So moved.
Lehman: Motion to accept correspondence and a second. All in favor? (all ayes)
Opposed? (none)
